Privacy policy

1. What the extension accesses

• Bookmarks. Titles, URLs and folder structure, so you can search, organize, find duplicates and get AI suggestions.
• Current tab. When you open the popup, the URL and title of the current tab so you can save it. The extension does not read the content of web pages.
• Open tabs (optional). Only if you turn on “Include open tabs” for search, the titles and URLs of your open tabs, so they can appear in search results. This uses the optional tabs permission, which you can turn off at any time in Settings. Open tabs are never sent to the Gemini API.
• Quick search overlay. When you press the quick search shortcut, the extension shows its search box over the current page. It does not read or change the page.
• Settings and API key. Your Gemini API key and preferences (theme, model, automation options) are stored in your browser with chrome.storage.local. They are not synced to other devices.
• Site icons. Loaded from your browser’s own favicon cache. No requests are made to third-party icon services.

The extension collects no analytics, telemetry, crash reports or usage statistics.

2. When data is sent to Google Gemini

The only outside service the extension connects to is the Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com). Bookmark titles, URLs and your folder names are sent directly from your browser, over HTTPS, only when an AI feature runs:

• when you click “Suggest folder”, “Sort with AI”, or “Ask AI” in search or duplicates;
• when a search finds no matches and Ask AI when nothing matches is on;
• when you use the “Save page/link to suggested folder” right-click menu item;
• when Auto-sort new bookmarks is on, for each bookmark you create with the browser’s star button. This runs in the background.

Your API key is sent with these requests in a request header so Google can authorize them. Nothing is sent if you haven’t added an API key, and you can turn off auto-sort and automatic AI search in Settings.

Data sent to the Gemini API is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy and the terms of your API key. The developer has no access to it.

3. Storage and retention

• The developer runs no servers or databases, and receives none of your data.
• Settings stay in your browser until you remove them or uninstall the extension.
• Short-lived data used for Undo is kept only for the current browser session.

4. Your control

• Change or remove your API key at any time in Settings.
• Turn off auto-sort, automatic AI search and open-tab search in Settings.
• Delete everything by uninstalling the extension. Your bookmarks themselves are untouched.

5. Sharing

Your data is not sold, traded or transferred to anyone, and is not used for advertising, profiling or credit scoring.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
